20 Teachers from the Municipality of Gjilan/Gnjilane Getting Trained on Peace Education
In the 7 day training the teachers from different schools of the municipality of Gjilan/Gnjilane had the chance to meet their colleagues from other communities. Jointly and with ongoing translation they’ve been working on different topics of peace education: understanding of conflict, perception, prejudices and stereotypes, techniques of non-violent communication, teamwork, joint decision-making and identity.
Thanks to the great working atmosphere and good group cohesion the teachers already developed ideas and plans to apply their new skills in work with the children in their schools. In the following months several peace workshops in schools of the municipality of Gjilan/Gnjilane are planned. ANP wants to express it’s gratitude to the United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) for supporting the project through the Confidence Building Measure Program and the Directorate of Education of Gjilan/Gnjilane for their full support of the project.
